Oh, yes another post this evening. I have been up to quite a bit lately so the need for more than one update is quite necessary. I don't know about anyone else but am I the only one with a tonne of friends who seem to have a birthday in October? Since I've been back in Brisbane I've already been to two birthday parties but have been invited to more and this week I'll be celebrating my mum's birthday as well as Eden's. The first birthday party was in honour of my lovely friend Mo and we went out in the city for a night of drinking etc. We started the night off at this lovely restaurant and cocktail bar called Garuva's and the jazz band that was playing there played a cover of High and Dry by Radiohead and when they finished playing I cheered so hard that they were like "yay there is a Radiohead fan in the crowd."

The second birthday party was for my lovely friend Kenny who I also work with at EB Games. We went to this amazing Japanese all you can eat BBQ buffet. I tried ox tongue, manta ray, beef liver and raw fish and I loved every minute of it. I've been ranting about it to everyone I see because I was in awe of how awesome that restaurant was.

So In terms of work I got to attend a work function recently for EB where we got to play around with the new Wii Fit Plus. There was free food and drinks which is always a plus. Also I've started a second job at the pharmacy where I recently completed my placement for my course. I'm looking forward to earning quite a bit of money over the holidays.

Lately I've been enjoying the company of my new geek friends from uni. They are the ones I've met through Friday Night Magic (I don't know if I've already spoken about this). Basically I just love playing Magic and dining with them. I love making friends with geeks. Basically my all-time favourite guys.

Because it was deserving of its own review.

Oh man. It's been like over a week since I last saw it so maybe I should have refreshed my memory by seeing it again (I loved it that much) but I think I'll be ok. Firstly when I first started seeing promos for this film I was quite excited because I love both Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Then I was a little worried because I thought Australia wouldn't get a release for it (considering Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist was supposed to and then it didn't but now it's straight to DVD). Then of course relieved to find out it was coming to a theatre near me :) But when I saw the trailor on youtube I was again worried because I thought it would be one of those movies characters constantly name drop obscure music throughout the movie. But luckily when the film started all these fears dissipated. I just sat there with glee the whole time. I loved the way it was filmed. How they added an array of different film techniques throughout. As well as a narrator. I loved the soundtrack, especially the use of The Temper Trap's song Sweet Disposition and I did like the references to Joseph's character Tom's favourite bands and how they influenced his ideas of love. I loved the way Tom's and Summer's (Zooey's character) developed and how they showed it by going backwards and forwards along the timeline of their relationship. I liked how it showed us that even though you can have the best time with someone and absolutely adore them, that one day you could just wake up and feel completely different about them. And I loved that their relationship wasn't perfect and ended like that, even though when their times were good it seemed so perfect. Lastly what I also loved was what happened at the very end with the girl called Autumn, even though it could have been predictable, because I didn't predict it. If you haven't seen it. Please do.

Just wanted to quickly wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I hope the day has brought everyone peace and joy. And that everyone put on a few kilos and got mega wasted.

I have to work tomorrow so I'll save my proper posts for tomorrow. Including a recount of Nevereverland which was definately one of the best nights of the year (apart from the night I met Felix).

I'm tired and my feet are sore. Which means I've been working! And now I finally found the time for a little bit of an update. I got back from my little holiday on Tuesday. I didn't really go on a holiday, I just went back to my mum's house in Kingscliff for a few days.

Last week on Thursday was my first shift. It went really well and I love working with my fellow employees at EB Games. The in store music is amazing: MGMT, The Ting Tings, The Killers, Kings of Leon and the Presets. Felix picked me up after work and we went back to my place. We discovered this cute little Thai restaurant at the end of my street which makes amazing food. I think we will make it a regular hang out.

On Friday Xander drove me to Kingscliff. A few days before Eden's mum called me on the phone to tell me about his sister's formal arrivals and she invited me to it. Eden picked me up from my mum's place and we drove to the venue. We took a wrong turn and accidentally went where the formal cars were arriving so we had to drive through all these people with the cameras out. It was embarrassing. Eden's sister Abby arrived with all her other friends in a strech Humma (is that how it's spelt, I'm not from the ghetto) and she looked amazing. I couldn't get over the amount of girls in that grade that look like models. After the arrivals I went and had some icecream in Coolangatta with Eden and he talked to me about his issues. He basically just said that he doesn't want me to distance myself from him and he wants to hear from me etc. It was actually a good conversation.

On Saturday I went to the beach with Simon. The weather was amazing for the whole time I was there. I got a slight tan which can't be helped no matter how much sun screen I use. The water was very refreshing and afterwards we went to the juice bar and indulged in some mango. That night I went out into town with Eden and a bunch of friends and met up with even more when I was in there. It was a really good night, except when it was home time it took forever for a taxi to come and so we just sat in the gutter until sunrise.

The rest of my time there was pretty relaxed. On Monday I went to the gym with Simon. I'm aiming to get really fit for Sydney. On Tuesday Xander and Felix picked me up so I got to Felix how amazing Kingscliff is and he also got to meet my mother.

Recently I've been enjoying the film versions of The Dreamers and Lolita. Lolita is definately one of my favourite movies and I really want to read the book. Yesterday I went and saw Quantum of Solace. And I've also been watching Six Feet Under on DVD.

Just announcing that I am going on a little vacation from today through to sometime next weekend just in case you are wondering why I suddenly became to quiet.

Also just wanted to let everyone know I started up a graphics community called burettes . At the moment it's very small and has like one other member apart from myself. It would be much appreciated if you had a little browse.

Just letting everyone know I am going on a little holiday before I have to go back to university so if anyone is wondering why I'm quiet or not picking up any of my requests it's because I am out in the field doing scientific research with my father and battling it out in environmental court. I'm sadly not joking. *laughs*

Wow doesn't this question make me think of high school.
My surname is Hawkeswood. I really don't think it's that difficult to pronounce.
But maybe people would fine it easier if the 'e' was gone.

During high school I've heard these different variations from people reading my name on a class role.

Yes the price I pay is the loss of perfect hearing. The frequency of the sound which is ringing in my ears is the frequency I will no longer be able to hear once the ringing stops. But still it is worth it.

I saw the love of my life tonight. Prancing on stage. Being the perfect showman. I was happy he wasn't scruffy. He wore a clean white shirt with a black vest and matching trousers. It reminded me of the days when he wore the perfect gold eyeliner. But then I remembered the beard. Which was still there but it looked good on him.

It was a brilliant show. They kicked off with a screen showing static and then some images from the Sam's Town album cover and singles covers. They kicked off with Enterlude which then turned into Sam's Town and then tonnes of glitter was shot into the air and it fell on everyone but lingered in the air at the same time.

I hired goggles so I could see Brandon properly. I was stupid and left my glasses at home. Friggen idiot. But they came in handy. I could see him so close up and he was so gorgeous. I screamed so much but my voise is still in tact.

I'm glad I got to see them twice this year.

One day I will meet him.

I think it is because Sunday night is the one night of the week people go to great lengths to keep me awake. Whether is is through the medium of loud, disgusting sex or the continuous rotation of Jack Johnson albums I am forced to be kept awake on Sunday nights. I mean last night was Saturday and the house was fucking quiet as a mouse. I have to say it is really annoying especially when the people involved arent working or studying full time. Just sponging off the fruits of this world and not giving others consideration.

Turn the fucking music off. or I will turn it back on at 6:30 tomorrow morning when I leave for my first end of semester exam.
